Io

New York, NY-- Womens groups are up in arms over a recent story in the New York Times. It concerned a new Soho nightclub opening by Raymond Scott, reclusive financier and owner of several other clubs in NYC and Miami Beach. Mr. Scott's new club, Io, named after the greek goddess and moon of Jupiter, will require that all women go through an online approval process, prior to gaining entry. Pictures and a completed questionnaire are required. There is an actual judging panel, twelve of Mr. Scott's friends."The applications are just pouring in..already over three thousand, from all over the country!" says Randy Zell, one on Mr. Scott's friends and a member of the panel. "My friends are a good judge of what's hot and what's not." says, Mr. Scott, "No guy want's to waste two hours of his life talking to a nut job or an ugly nut job." Women who pass the admission process are allowed to bring along another girlfriend and drinks are free. Men who wish admission must present a major credit card and proof of executive employment, a business card would be accepted. Gloria Skanke, president of the "Bull Dyke Lesbian Action Task Force" says, "This whole concept is an outrage! This guy is treating women like a steak or worse!" Mr. Scott answers his critics by explaining the 'big picture'. "Guys get to enjoy a drink and meet some of New York City's most beautiful women and not have to worry about them just being realeased from a mental institution or worse. And the women get to meet successful financially secure men who don't still live at home with the parents. For the women, I'm seperating the walkers from the talkers."
