yes, dear...

UK-- It seems there has been alot of press lately about man's inability to hear 'women'. Men who are accused of never listening by women now have an excuse - women's voices are more difficult for men to listen to than other men's, a report from researchers at Sheffield university(UK), said this week. However, the major media outlets have missed the most important element of the study. It wasn't that a 'woman's' voice was ignored, it was a wife's voice. It seems that the statistics didn't support the hypothesis to include 'non-wife' voices. "Much like man has evolved, unlike the rat (Rattus), to develop a "gag reflex", a contraction of the back of the throat that prevents objects from entering the throat except as part of normal swallowing. This helps prevent choking." says, Dr. Albert Brent. "It also seems that modern man has also developed a "nag reflex", a contraction of the auditory nerve, minimizing the idle chatter, inane questions and impossible requests that are commonly associated with wives and marriage. This prevents insanity, mid-life depression and suicide."
